Echasse Papillion- Butterflys on Stilts

 

The spring festival in Aigue Morte included the parade and dance of the Echasse Papillion - the Butterflys on stilts. Two woman danced through the street to a variety of lively music for over 1 hour. Balancing on stilts and waving their arms to the rhythm they moved with ease as the audience watched with bated breath that they wouldn't fall down and crash on top of them. They were beautiful to watch and amazing at the same time
